Nurse.org has officially acquired The Nursing Beat, bringing together two powerhouse brands to create the largest online community for nurses and student nurses in the country. This acquisition promises to uplift the voices of nurses and provide even more essential resources, stories, and support to nurses in every stage of their career.

What does this union mean for nurses? In short: more reach, more resources, and deeper community connections. Here’s a look at the journey to this acquisition, what each brand brings, and what you can expect as a Nurse.org reader and community member.

A Brief History of Nurse.org

The Nurse.org that exists today was developed after significant market research and numerous interviews with practicing nurses to make sure we were serving a need in the nursing community. Acquired by Full Beaker, Inc. in 2015, we saw an opportunity to build a robust website and community for nurses around the world, helping them throughout every stage of their nursing career. The company also operates TravelNursing.org, a trusted destination for nurses exploring flexible career opportunities across the U.S.

Today, Nurse.org is the largest website and community of nurses online, growing to become the go-to source for nursing news, career and education resources, and supportive community spaces. The site serves over 1.5 million nurses and student nurses every month, reaches 30M+ across social media,  and is renowned for its data-driven school rankings, timely updates, and nurse-vetted education and career tools. Nurse.org operates with the guiding principle that nurses deserve to be celebrated and supported—at the bedside, in the classroom, and beyond.

The Story of The Nursing Beat

Founded as a newsletter and digital media brand in 2019 by two former emergency nurses, The Nursing Beat quickly gained a loyal following for its authentic storytelling, industry trends, and creative takes on nursing life.

Led by CEO Tamara Al-Yassin, The Nursing Beat became known for elevating nurse voices and helping nurses connect through stories, news, and community spotlights. Its weekly newsletter became a staple in inboxes nationwide.

"The Nursing Beat has been an incredible journey—rooted in elevating the voices of nurses everywhere," said Tamara Al-Yassin. "I’m deeply proud and grateful for the perspectives we’ve shared, and I look forward to seeing this community continue to shape the future of healthcare through Nurse.org."
