CEUs By Day, Parties with Nurse Blake and 3K Nurses By Night — My NurseCon Review

I just got back from NurseCon at Sea 2025, and I’m still trying to process everything — from the nurse-founded brands OliveUs scrubs and Uni shoes to the glow sticks and memories. Five full days surrounded by real ones who actually get the life of a nurse. The theme this year? Straight 90’s/Y2K nostalgia mixed with CEUs and clear waters from the Bahamas. The whole experience was fire 🔥

3,000+ Nurses. One Cruise. One Energy.

Imagine over 3,000 nurses on one ship — ICU bosses, floor grinders, travel fam, students on the come-up. All of us are there for the same reason: connection, knowledge, and a break from the chaos. I’m talkin’ about dancing with folks you just met, then waking up early for a CEU session like you didn’t just hit the dougie four hours ago. That’s real nurse balance. Shoutout to @nurse.blake & @nurseconatsea for creating something this solid. It hits different.

THE PARTIES!

Let’s get into it — 90’s and Y2K took over the ship. I saw rhinestones, butterfly clips, velour tracksuits, even folks in full denim fits. We showed up like we show up on the floor — no shortcuts.

90’s Rewind

Look — I went full PRINCE. Velvet suit. Ruffled shirt. Eyeliner. Swagger that had nurses pulling me left and right for pics. I stepped out the cabin looking like I time traveled off the Purple Rain album cover. And they knew what it was. “TRAVIUS?! Is that YOU?!” Yes. Yes, it is.

90’s Red Carpet

Now this one… man. I hit that red carpet shirtless with a bubblegum pink fur coat that had its own presence. The energy was wild. Nurses were showing love like I had just walked out of an awards show. Let’s just say I brought a little Biggie with a touch of ATL drip to the cruise.

Y2K Throwback Party — aka Tupac of Nurses Mode Activated

By the final night, I was running on fumes — but still showed up with a bandana tight, Pedialyte in hand, vest swinging, but focused. Somebody said I looked like I dropped a hit called “Charting Ain’t Easy.” I ain’t mad at it. I two-stepped, threw up a peace sign, and gave that last bit of energy like I just clocked in for the night shift. That’s how we close out a cruise.

Shoutout to Nurse.org — Y’all Showed Out

Big love to Nurse.org for showing serious support. One of the dopest parts of the cruise was the Best of Nursing Awards. And yeah, I was voted Nurse.org's Best Nurse Content Creator of the Year 2025 by the nursing community. Still sinking in. Being in the same room with other creators and changemakers, you could feel the momentum. It was respect all around. Made me want to go even harder for the culture.

Late-Night Karaoke + Sneak Performance

Now y’all know I had to touch the mic. Nurse.org put together karaoke, and I used that moment to debut my unreleased track “Tryna Be a Hero.” When the crowd started vibing, and the granny squad joined me on stage? Man… that hit me different. That song is for every nurse who’s ever held somebody down on their worst day. It was personal.

The 90’s Nostalgia Booth

Nurse.org also set up a booth that felt like a time capsule. Neon lights, retro candy, stickers, light-up bracelets — real 90’s vibes. Plus giveaways like Starbucks and Clove shoes. You could feel the love in that corner. That’s the kind of stuff that makes a trip unforgettable.

Chill Time in the Bahamas

Look, we work hard. But that beach reset? Even harder. Coconut drink in one hand, sunscreen in the other, building with folks who’ve lived the same grind. That’s real healing. That’s what nurses deserve.

Nursing Education and CNEs Were On Point

We weren’t just turning up — the CEU classes were next level. Panels, workshops, real gems being dropped by people who actually know the field. I left sharper than I came. That’s how it’s supposed to be. I learned a ton of valuable information in the course about Human Trafficking - this is a MUST-TAKE course for all nurses.

Big Respect to Nurse Blake

Major salute to @nurse.blake. He didn’t just plan a cruise — he created a space for nurses to breathe, connect, and be celebrated. That kind of vision takes heart. So thank you, bro. For putting on for the culture and reminding us that we’re more than just a job title.

Camp NurseCon 2025
