Bio: Liam has been breaking social norms since his coming out in 2017. A self-made transgender man, born and raised in Syracuse, New York where he grew up navigating the complexities of identity, faith, and community. A former athlete and lifelong competitor, basketball was his refuge throughout childhood and college—until a deeper calling led him to embrace his truth and begin his gender transition in 2019.

After nearly half a decade of personal evolution, Liam completed his medical transition in 2025 and now uses his platform to inspire, educate, and empower. As a social media influencer, he shares his journey not only as a transgender man, but as a human committed to self-growth, mental resilience, and authenticity.

Liam’s story is rooted in contrast—from being raised in the church, combating negativity and hate on a daily basis, growing up both popular and quietly struggling with his gender from a young age. His voice is raw, real, and deeply personal. Backed by a strong, outspoken, and loving family, he brings honesty and heart to every conversation.

Through storytelling and fitness, Liam has become a source of strength for thousands—showing that transformation isn’t just possible, it’s powerful.

Medical Transition and Hormone Therapy

Liam takes us through how he began his gender transition through hormone therapy, top surgery, and eventually bottom surgery which was Liam’s most recent procedure. Liam has a unique ability to tell his story through his content, making it simple for the audience to understand and providing a lens to see into the life of someone who is going through a medical transition and all that it entails.

After going through therapy and receiving letters confirming that Liam was dealing with gender dysphoria, he began hormone therapy in 2019 to begin his official transition–two years after his initial coming out in 2017.

Liam explains how the beginning of his transition offered some challenging times in changing his name and pronouns, but how vital it was to have a support group in his college friends to help ease the transition period.

Liam reflects on his recent bottom surgery and the extensive process and healing required for bottom surgery. He reflects on the difficulty of stage 1 of bottom surgery from the pain of taking a skin graft from his forearm, to having open wounds, the inability to use his arm, and requiring an inpatient hospitalization 5 days post operatively.

Radical Self Acceptance and the Importance of Gender Transitions

What I learned most from Liam during this conversation is the weight that self identity and how we see ourselves matters. As humans, we all battle with knowing and loving ourselves, and Liam so vulnerably shows us that when we take control of our own lives and can silence the noise and listen to our own inner knowing, what lies on the other side of that is our truth.

Liam proves to us that people will continue to talk negatively about us, no matter what we are doing, but when you persevere and continue on despite the noise, beautiful things can happen.

Liam states in our conversation, “clothes can only do so much. They can only help with the gender dysphoria or the body dysmorphia that I was having at this time.” He goes on to talk to us about how he would completely disassociate from the body he was living in pre transition and how this affected his sex life and relationships. He talks about how going out in public would cause anxiety due to the fear of people seeing him as a woman due to his physical characteristics such as having breasts.

How Can Healthcare Workers Best Support the Trans Community in the Healthcare Setting?

Colton asks Liam during the conversation on Club Nurse how the healthcare community can best support the trans community. Liam’s response was so simple: “it is just treating me as any other individual.”

The take home message from his answer is to treat the trans community like the human beings that they are.

Just because someone is going through a transition or is a different gender than the one assigned to them at birth, does not mean that they are any less human than the next person or patient.
