Wetterberg shared the grueling schedule she kept to maintain her job as an RN and a Dallas Cowboy. She would work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m as a pediatric nurse, before heading to cheerleading practice, often not returning back home until midnight or 1 a.m.

For Wetterberg, that dedication extended far beyond the hospital floor. During her DCC tenure, she served as a first group leader and represented the squad at the 2023 Pro Bowl, all while maintaining her full-time hospital schedule.

Nursing and New Beginnings

Since retiring from the DCC in 2024, Wetterberg has transitioned to full-time nursing, focusing her energy on pediatric care and patient advocacy. But she hasn’t left the Cowboys organization completely.

As a DCC “All-Star,” she still assists with appearances, performances, and mentoring programs for aspiring cheerleaders.

Her commitment to health and community continued to shine through even as she faced her own medical challenges. In March 2025, Wetterberg underwent ankle repair surgery after what she described as the “worst injury” of her career.

She documented her recovery journey on TikTok, using her platform to discuss physical rehabilitation, strength rebuilding, and the emotional realities of recovery, experiences that many nurses and healthcare professionals deeply relate to.

A Partnership Rooted in Healthcare

Wetterberg’s personal life has also blossomed. She married fellow registered nurse and actor Nate Crnkovich in a two-day celebration in Omaha, Nebraska, in December 2024.

The pair initially connected through a mutual friend and supported each other through long-distance nursing careers before settling in Dallas full-time.

Crnkovich, who once held the title of Mister Supranational 2019, shares Wetterberg’s passion for healthcare.

Together, they’ve become a model of how two demanding careers — and shift work — can coexist with shared values and mutual encouragement.

Inspiring Nurses and Dancers Alike

Even after stepping away from performing full-time, Wetterberg remains a strong advocate for young women pursuing ambitious goals.

Through DCC prep classes, alumni events, and digital connections, she continues to uplift others navigating the balance between professional success and personal fulfillment.

For Wetterberg, the lessons learned in both the hospital and on the field echo the same message: discipline, teamwork, and empathy are at the heart of serving others, whether through medicine or movement.
