Nurses across the country will find inspiration in Lifetime’s upcoming film, Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story, premiering July 19. The movie stars acclaimed actress Chrissy Metz as Nichole Jolly, a real-life nurse whose courage and compassion became a lifeline for many during the devastating 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, California.
About the Film
‘Faith in the Flames’ is the first in Lifetime’s new lineup of Saturday-night movies centered on women who draw strength from their faith to overcome extraordinary adversity. The film dramatizes the harrowing true story of Nichole Jolly, who, as the wildfire engulfed Paradise, risked her own life to save patients, colleagues, and community members.
Metz, who portrays Jolly, said of the story: “Nichole’s bravery and devotion to others, even when everything around her was collapsing, is something we don’t see enough of. Her story reminds us that faith isn’t abstract – it’s what we cling to when we have nothing else.”
The movie also highlights the ongoing work of the Rebuild Paradise Foundation, with Lifetime’s parent company, A+E Media, making a donation in support of fire victims.

Jolly’s commitment to her patients and her community did not end with the fire. She has been recognized for her advocacy for marginalized populations and her unwavering dedication to empowering the vulnerable. Her story is a testament to the vital role nurses play—not only as caregivers, but as leaders and heroes in times of crisis.
