In addition to winning two game tickets, our nurse winners also received a pair of Clove Shoes and a prize bundle from NuWest.

The nurse with the most votes, Jahnik Dismuke, participated in the pregame captain coin toss. The two runner-ups, Nallely Ruvalcaba and Tahler Lechtenberg, were recognized on the field pre-game.

Pregame Captain Coin Toss Winner, Jahnik Dismuke

"It is with great pride and admiration that I nominate Jahnik Dismuke for the Chicago Fire Nurses Appreciation in recognition of their unwavering dedication, clinical excellence, and compassionate care."

"Throughout her career, Jahnik consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being of patients, families, and colleagues. One of her most notable strengths is her capacity to act as a patient advocate. Whether ensuring that a patient’s cultural preferences are respected, coordinating complex care needs, or providing emotional support to families, she consistently demonstrates the heart of nursing—caring for the whole person, not just the illness."

"Her contributions to nursing extend far beyond the job description, leaving a lasting impact on all who have the privilege to work alongside or be cared for by her."

Nallely Ruvalcaba, Recognized On the Field

"Nallely Ruvalcaba is a pediatric registered nurse focused on providing her little patients the best nursing care and works as a clinical instructor for aspiring nurses. A nurse for 7 years, Nallely is a mom of 2 and played college soccer before attending nursing school! Go Fire!"

Tahler Lechtenberg, Recognized On the Field

"Tahler is an ER/Trauma nurse who serves in one of the busiest level one trauma centers, not only in Chicago, but all of Illinois. While many people run away from the trauma, the chaos, and the overall gruesome nature of what we see in the ER and trauma bay on a daily basis, Tahler finds a sense of peace in these situations and approaches every day and every challenge with a positive attitude and a smile on her face."

"She brings joy and light to very underserved but very deserving communities within the south side of Chicago. She sees people on some of the worst days of their lives, but continuously shows up every day to help not only the patients, but also their families and loved ones. With her empathetic and nurturing heart, she helps them navigate these tough days that may seem impossible to get through. Not only is she a very dependable, outgoing, positive, professional, and caring nurse, but she is also a very loving and kind soul all around."

"Her commitment to providing the best patient care possible is of utmost importance to her. She is the first person to help others in need, including not only her patients, but her colleagues as well. She also shares her love for nursing and others by being a preceptor and mentor to newly graduated nurses, newly hired nurses, and nursing students. She takes pride in what she does, and by being a preceptor, she hopes to leave a positive impact on other people's nursing careers."

"She has an inquisitive mind, the willingness to always learn and grow, and will never say no to helping others.  She deserves to be nominated because she is the one person that you can always depend on 100% of the time. She is the person that you can laugh with, the person that you can cry with, the person that is always willing to get her hands dirty to help you, the person that will always pray for you and with you, and the person that will always be a listening ear while reserving any form of judgement."

"Our jobs as nurses are not easy, but having a person like her by your side gives you the motivation to be a better nurse, a better person, and to keep going even on the toughest days."
