I'm a Nurse Who Wrote a Dance Anthem for Nurses — It's Out Now, and It'll Make You Move!

Today’s a big day. I dropped my new single, "Tryna Be A Hero," and this one is for you. For every nurse who’s ever carried too much and still found a way to smile. For the ones who handle code blues, cranky patients, difficult veins, and broken hearts... and then somehow still show up for themselves.

This isn't just a song. It’s a love letter. It’s a mirror. It's our story.

Song Inspiration: The Weight We Carry — and the Life We Live

When I sat down to create this track, as a nurse myself, I knew it had to start real — raw. That's why the first thing you hear is this soul-stirring female vocal sample:

“Lift it all, all on my own
Just in here, Tryna Be A Hero
Go on, go on and have your doubts.”

That moment? That’s the realest. It's that feeling when you’re deep in it — the shift's heavy, the night’s long, and it feels like it’s all on you. And you still step up. Every time.

But being a nurse — being a human — is not just about grinding. It’s about living, too. That’s why the beat flips, and the energy shifts — because there’s another side to us nurses. The human we are after work, who dances, who claims every moment like we earned it (because we did).

I brought that vibe with lines that speak from my soul:

“Big City with Bright Lights
Step into the Night Life
Get Money, she the right type”

Because, yeah, we save lives by day — but by night (or by day if you work nights like me)? We live them too. And we deserve every second of it.

Too Sexy for My Scrubs... And You Already Know It

Now listen — if you ever doubted nurses got swag, let me fix that for you.

The verse rolls out, bold and unapologetic:

“I’m too sexy for my scrubs
Too sexy for the club
She text me like what’s up
We in the city tonight…”

Tell me you didn’t feel that. Tell me you haven’t had that moment where you peel off those scrubs, throw on some fresh kicks, and hit the city feeling brand new.

This track ain’t about running from the responsibility. It’s about honoring both sides of who we are. The discipline and the glow. The grind and the joy.

This Is Bigger Than a Song — It's a Celebration

"Tryna Be A Hero" is my way of saying:
I see you. I hear you. I am you.

We’ve been carrying the weight — for our patients, our families, our communities. But carrying the weight doesn’t mean we don’t get to dance, to laugh, to live loud.

This song is a reminder: Even heroes deserve to feel human.

I’m grateful every day for this gift — being able to turn our struggles, our triumphs, our stories into music. This isn’t just entertainment. It’s therapy. It's celebration. It’s ours.

🎶 "Tryna Be A Hero" is out now on all streaming platforms.

Bump it in the car on your way to the night shift. Blast it while you're getting ready for brunch after a double. Dance like you’re clocking out of a 12 and straight into your best life.

We're not just trying — we’re out here being heroes. Every day. And I’m proud to be right there with you.

Love and respect,
— Travius Keandric
