Nurses Honored At Home Plate!
FIVE remarkable nurses were honored at home plate during the pregame ceremony. Each winner received 2 game tickets, Clove shoes, and other prizes!
Here are the five nurses who were chosen by an online vote:
Jeanine Marciano: Jeanine has lovingly served the children of Rady’s children hospital for 45 years!! She’s a huge padres fan and I’m her huge fan!
Junior Berruecos: I met this nurse through social media sharing his journey as a first generation nurse in his family. I love how he chooses to give away scrubs to nursing students in need instead of keeping them! His post have really motivated me to continue my nursing career by adding everyday humor and positivity to the struggles nurses may go through. He at times goes on IG live and shares tips and notes on how to pass school and the nursing license exam. Wish him the best in his career
Allyson Petty: Ally is one of the hardest working nurses I have ever met. The love she has for her job, her colleagues, and her patients is exponential. Ally doesn’t treat her patients like they are random individuals, but rather as her own family, ensuring that they are not only receiving the best care possible, but also making sure that the know how loved and cared for they are, as often times many patients are alone in the hospital. If you asked Ally to jump, she would ask how high? She is always willing to help others, even when she is busy, she will make sure that no member of her unit is drowning in their own workload and will lend a helping hand. I will forever be grateful to know Ally and the incredible nurse that she is.
Sari Nimela: She is a wonderful home health nurse, knows a lot, positive attitude to patients and her co-workers. Great advicare and a heart if gold. Every family is smitten by her attitude and vision if life. She is a rat if sunshine. She won Nurse of the year award this year and loves spending time with her family at games and concerts. Therefore I would love for her to win the tickets
Jay Larrosa: Jay Larrosa had been for the last 25 years a nurse, leader, and an advocate in the long-term and acute care settings. He strives to make a difference in patient’s life and the community; collaborates with key stakeholders to effect change for the good of many; and promotes holistic wellness. Jay supports a five-hospital system in San Diego, California, Scripps Health as the System Project Manager for Care Management (CM) for over 10 years. He is involved as well with several professional organizations on different capacities at the local, state, and national level. Jay recently completed his term, 2021-2023 as one of the National Board of Directors for American Case Management Association (ACMA). Jay has been involved as well with ACMA Chapter Mentor program since 2019.
