Oregon Nurses Secure Tentative Agreement with CHI Mercy Medical Center

The Oregon Nursing Association (ONA) nurses at CHI Mercy Medical Center have reached a tentative contract agreement with hospital management. The announcement came late on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, after 9:00 p.m.

Key Terms of the Three-Year Agreement

The tentative agreement, spanning three years, includes several significant provisions aimed at improving working conditions and compensation for nurses at CHI Mercy Medical Center.

Key Points:

  • Wage Increase: 26% raise in the first year to match wages at other local hospitals.
  • Enhanced Benefits: Improvements in benefits for frontline healthcare workers to maintain competitiveness with other systems.

Ratification and Implementation

While the tentative agreement marks a significant milestone, it is important to note that the process is not yet complete. The next step involves the ratification of the agreement by the ONA membership. Once ratified, the new contract terms will be implemented, ushering in a new era of labor relations at CHI Mercy Medical Center.
