IntelyCare Acquires CareRev = More Shift Options for Nurses
- Wider Shift Access: Nurses get potential access to CareRev's 35,000+ acute care pros and IntelyCare's post-acute network in one ecosystem.
- No Disruptions For Now: Both apps run as usual under existing brands, keeping your schedules intact.
- Easier Flexibility: Combined tech may streamline job boards and staffing for facilities, boosting per-diem opportunities nationwide.
IntelyCare has acquired CareRev, combining two major platforms that nurses and healthcare facilities already use to find and fill shifts. Announced on January 8, 2026, the deal merges post-acute and acute care staffing without immediate changes to operations for nurses or facilities.
Who are IntelyCare & CareRev?
IntelyCare
- A technology-enabled healthcare staffing platform that helps facilities manage nurse staffing and clinicians find shifts — especially in post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities, home health, and long-term care.
- It’s known for its mobile app that lets nurses manage schedules, accept shifts, and see pay details in one place.
- According to industry research, IntelyCare ranks as a top 30 U.S. healthcare staffing firm, and the 3rd largest provider of per-diem nursing placements.
CareRev
- A platform “purpose-built for acute care” — meaning it primarily connects RNs, CNAs, and LPNs with shifts in hospitals and emergency departments.
- CareRev claims that more than 35,000 healthcare professionals use their app to pick up shifts and set schedules on their terms.
- Founded in 2015, the company raised more than $70M in venture funding and built out its acute-care focus over several years.
This acquisition merges a large acute care contingent workforce with IntelyCare’s broader nurse-staffing community — potentially giving nurses access to a wider range of shift types and facilities than under either platform alone.
Acquisition Details
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but both companies will continue to operate under their existing brands, preserving current services for users. The combined platform aims to handle permanent staff, internal pools, and contingent labor in one system for health systems.
Matthew Levesque, CEO of IntelyCare and CareRev, stated: "Health systems are under enormous pressure to deliver high-quality care while managing unprecedented workforce complexity. By bringing IntelyCare and CareRev together, we're creating a more integrated and reliable way for facilities to manage permanent staff, internal resource pools, and contingent labor through a single tech platform.”
What Nurses Might See in Their Day-to-Day
- More Variety, One Relationship: If you’ve used separate apps to pick up hospital shifts and post-acute care shifts, this deal could eventually mean less app hopping. Both platforms will continue operating under their names for now, but the underlying technology and scheduling opportunities may become more connected.
- A Platform That Spans Care Settings: CareRev’s acute care network is strong in hospital environments, while IntelyCare’s roots are in post-acute facilities. For nurses who like to mix ER/ICU work with skilled nursing or home health assignments, a combined opportunity pool may mean more flexibility in one place than before.
- Staffing Complexity, But Maybe More Predictability: Healthcare organizations balance internal staff, contract labor, and open shifts across very different care settings. The companies say bringing together job boards, recruiter tools, contingent labor resources, and internal staffing pools into a single platform could make it easier for facilities — and nurses — to navigate that complexity.
- Continuity For Now on Both Platforms: Importantly for nurses already using IntelyCare or CareRev, nothing drastic changes immediately. Both services will keep their existing brands and operations running. That means your current access to shifts, pay systems, and scheduling shouldn’t abruptly disappear.
Why This Matters in a Tight Job Market
Nurse staffing across the U.S. has been strained for years, and both temporary and technology-assisted staffing solutions have grown rapidly in response. CareRev’s 35,000+ user base shows the demand for flexible, shift-by-shift work in acute settings. At the same time, IntelyCare has become a go-to option for facilities struggling to staff post-acute and long-term care roles at scale.
A combined platform doesn’t solve shortages overnight — but it may make it easier for nurses to find work that fits their schedules and career goals, no matter the care setting.
