Support Tailored to Single Moms

Climb Wyoming’s free CNA program stands out for its holistic, trauma-informed approach to supporting single moms throughout their training journey. The program doesn’t just offer the 120 hours of required classroom and clinical training; it also removes barriers that often prevent single moms from taking that first step.

From free or reduced-rate childcare, evening and weekend classes, and transportation assistance, to mental health support, food, housing, and legal guidance, Climb Wyoming walks alongside each participant from day one through graduation and beyond. This wraparound approach has helped drive graduation rates to 98%, a powerful testament to how far intentional support can go.

Career Growth with Flexibility

After certification, Climb connects graduates with local employers, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and clinics—many of which offer sign-on bonuses and flexible schedules that work around parenting needs. Since a significant number of CNAs go on to become licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or registered nurses (RNs), Climb Wyoming’s programs are a strong first step into a lasting healthcare career.

To qualify for free CNA training for single moms,  applicants must live in Natrona County and have primary custody of at least one child under 18. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with new cohorts starting every eight weeks.

My Personal Journey from CNA to RN as a Single Mom

This story is personal for me because I’ve walked this path.

I started out as a phlebotomist and then became a CNA in the ER while raising my son on my own. It wasn’t glamorous, and there were more than a few nights when I felt exhausted and overwhelmed. But those jobs gave me more than a paycheck; they gave me a purpose, a direction, and the confidence to dream bigger.

Eventually, I became an LPN, then pushed through nursing school and became an RN. Every night shift, every clinical, every test—it was all worth it because I was building a life not just for me, but for my son.

Being a CNA taught me resilience, compassion, and the value of hard work. It grounded me in the realities of patient care and gave me the foundation I needed to grow, not just professionally, but personally. I want every single mom out there to know: you can absolutely do this! One step, one class, one shift at a time!

This work matters. And you matter.

Ready to Begin?

If you’re a single mom looking for a fresh start, this could be your moment. Climb Wyoming’s CNA program isn’t just about job training—it’s a lifeline. It offers the skills, support, and community to help you build a better future for yourself and your children.

To learn more or start the application process, contact Climb Wyoming or visit the Wyoming Department of Health website for CNA training details in Casper and surrounding areas.

You don’t have to have it all figured out—just be brave enough to take the first step!
