Fake Nurse Gets 5–10 Years in Prison for Sexually Assaulting Patients at Local Urgent Care Clinics

Montgomery County, PA — A man who pretended to be a nurse and assaulted multiple patients at urgent care clinics in Montgomery County will spend up to a decade behind bars.

Ramon Garcia, 34, of Philadelphia, was sentenced Monday to 5 to 10 years in state prison. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated indecent assault and invasion of privacy. Garcia will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

About The Assaults

Garcia worked as a medical assistant at Carbon Health Urgent Care clinics in Jenkintown and Dresher. According to prosecutors, he lied to patients and staff, claiming to be a nurse. He used this false title to access patients and perform unauthorized procedures. Several women reported that Garcia groped them, made unwanted sexual advances, and took secret photos and videos during visits.

Victim 1

The investigation into Garcia began on March 1, 2024, when a woman reported an encounter during a pre-employment drug screening. Allegedly, Garcia, under the guise of medical procedures, told the woman she was randomly selected to by monitored during urination. He allegedly watched as the woman provided a urine sample, and subsequently asked her out on a date while handing her his phone number.

Victim 2

While police investigated the first incident, a second woman came forward with allegations that she was touched inappropriately by Garcia during a pelvic March 9 exam at the same urgent care facility, police said. During this incident, Garcia posed and identified himself as a nurse and proceeded to accompany the anonymous woman into an exam room. In the room, he performed a pelvic examination on the patient and proceeded to “start touching her again” after helping her remove her pants. According to police, Garcia asked the patient if she had any fantasies or was in a relationship and proceeded to give her his phone number.

After his arrest, more victims came forward with similar reports. Investigators later found disturbing images and videos on Garcia’s phone, taken inside exam rooms and restrooms at both clinics.

Carbon Health says Garcia was fired immediately after his arrest and that they launched their own internal review.

Civil Lawsuit Against Carbon Health & Garcia

Additional legal action is underway. Two Philadelphia law firms have filed a civil lawsuit against Carbon Health and Garcia.

The suit accuses the clinic of failing to supervise its employees and putting patients at risk. The attorneys say Garcia was allowed to move freely through the clinics, even though he was not licensed to give direct patient care as a nurse.

The lawsuit also says patients were targeted during exams, at their most vulnerable. Some were allegedly touched inappropriately, photographed without consent, and asked to provide unnecessary biological samples. So far, at least 18 victims have been identified, but lawyers believe there could be more who haven’t come forward yet.

“These patients trusted the clinic with their health and safety,” said attorney Robert T. Lynch. “Instead, they were taken advantage of while no one was watching.”

A second attorney on the case, Kevin O’Brien, added: “Filing lawsuits is one of the strongest ways victims can stand up, speak out, and hold clinics accountable for what happened behind closed doors.”

Garcia will face additional charges in a new criminal case this week. His final sentencing and a hearing to determine whether he is a sexually violent predator will be held in Montgomery County Court.
