Bryce Taylor
Bryce is a LPN working at Rowan, a newer establishment, where she pierces ears for the city of Cleveland with her license. Bryce is such a bubbly nurse, currently in school for her RN-BSN working toward being an aesthetic nurse. This nomination will motivate Bryce and many newer nurses to keep going and pursue different routes in nursing!
Marcia Atkins
I would like to nominate Marcia, my clinical instructor in nursing school, for her outstanding dedication, leadership, and impact on student nurses. Marcia consistently went above and beyond her role as an instructor, serving not only as a teacher but also as a mentor, advocate, and role model.
During my clinical rotation, I remember feeling overwhelmed while preparing to administer medications for the first time. Instead of simply observing, Marcia calmly stood beside me and walked me through each step of the process. She asked critical thinking questions like, “Why is this medication prescribed?” and “What assessments should you complete before giving it?” She turned a nerve-wracking moment into a powerful learning experience. By the end of that shift, I felt more confident and capable because of her patience and guidance.
Another example of her dedication was how she handled post-clinical conferences. Marcia didn’t just review the day’s events; she encouraged reflection and growth. When a classmate struggled with time management during a busy shift, Marcia helped her create a structured plan for prioritizing patient care instead of criticizing her. She made sure every student felt supported and capable of improving.
Marcia also modeled professional and compassionate patient care. I vividly remember her spending extra time comforting an elderly patient who was anxious about a new diagnosis. She demonstrated therapeutic communication, active listening, and empathy in a way that textbooks simply cannot teach. Watching her interact with patients showed me what kind of nurse I aspire to become.
What sets Marcia apart is her unwavering belief in her students. She continuously reminded us that we were capable, even on the days we doubted ourselves. Her constructive feedback, encouragement before exams, and commitment to excellence truly shaped my development as a future nurse.
For these reasons, I wholeheartedly nominate Marcia. Her passion for nursing education, dedication to her students, and compassionate example make her exceptionally deserving of recognition.
Mary Sikora
Mary is an extraordinary nurse who has dedicated over 20 years to caring for others with compassion and kindness. She holds an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree, and is currently pursuing her second master’s, demonstrating her incredible commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in her field. Beyond her impressive accomplishments, she brings warmth, empathy, and a genuine smile to every patient and colleague she encounters. Her passion for helping others truly makes a lasting impact. https://www.daisyfoundation.org/daisy-award/honorees/mary-sikora
Jawad Khalaf
Jawad Khalaf, I just want you to know how proud I am of you. The way you show up every day as a nurse, a leader, and a single dad is incredible. You care for your patients, support your team, and still give your best to your family. That takes real strength and heart. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed — you inspire more people than you probably realize.
