2025 Event Recap

On April 6th, the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted a special Nurse Appreciation Night at Rocket Arena. Five outstanding nurses were honored on the court for their exceptional contributions to patient care and their impact on the community. It was a night to recognize and celebrate those who make a difference every day. 

 

Here are the five nurses who were chosen by an online vote: 

• Ashley Reese – Such an amazing nurse and educator, you can tell she really cares about helping others grow and reach their goals too.

• Stacey Drahuschak – I cannot recommend Stacey highly enough as a nurse practitioner. Her exceptional bedside manner immediately sets her apart. From the moment you meet her, you feel genuinely cared for, heard, and supported. Stacey has a unique ability to connect with her patients on a personal level, which creates a comfortable and trusting environment. Her extensive background in women's health truly shines in her practice. She is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and detail-oriented, ensuring that no question goes unanswered and no concern is overlooked. Stacey’s expertise allows her to provide personalized care that empowers her patients and makes them feel confident in their health journey. Whether you're looking for someone who listens attentively, provides clear explanations, or just makes you feel at ease during your visits, Stacey delivers all that and more. She is a rare gem in the healthcare industry, and anyone would be lucky to have her as their provider!

• Jill Charles – You can tell she finds her work truly rewarding, and she's so great with patients, always working to help them feel like the best version of themselves.

• Lauren Selgert – My mom has been a nurse for 40 years and has changed the lives of thousands of people. She is the hardest worker I know and has been honored for her contributions to nursing with a Daisy Award.
• Crosby Craddock – She's always committed to making sure each patient receives the best treatment so they in turn get the best outcome.

Awards and Prizes:

• The five nurses with the most votes were honored on court!
• The nurse winners each received 2 game tickets, courtesy of Nurse.org, a pair of Clove shoes, Fabletics scrubs and  a prize bundle from NuWest!

 2024 Event Recap

During the game, 5 nurses who have gone above and beyond the call of duty were recognized on the court. They each received 2 game tickets, Clove shoes, a prize bundle from NuWest!

  • Nomination: Stacey Mazzurco saved a woman from a stroke while in Mexico
• Madelyn Herman
  • Nomination: Madelyn is a hard worker who never gives up
• Charvetta Smith
• Heather Del Valle
  • Nomination: My name is Carmen and I’m her daughter. My mom is an incredible nurse and an incredible person. She works so hard to make sure that my sister and I have everything we need. She’s a nurse in the ICU and sometimes works in PACU. My Mom continues to amaze me with her work every day and never fails me when I need her the most.
• Samantha Wilson
  • Nomination: Samantha is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of medical experience. She has a passion for helping others to feel like their best and comfortable in their own skin.
