Throughout the summer, we provided complimentary lunches to nurses as a small but intentional gesture of gratitude for the tireless work they do every day.

Rather than only hosting a one time event during nurses week, Lunch on Us was a sustained effort that allowed us to connect with nurses all summer long. Sharing a meal gave us the opportunity to say “thank you” in a way that felt personal, thoughtful, and sincere.

The impact of the series went beyond the lunches themselves. Nurses felt seen, valued, and recognized not just as professionals, but as people. The events created space for real conversations, relationship-building, and moments of encouragement. It also gave our local nurses a chance to meet with their recruiters in real life vs just over the phone.

Lunch on Us reflects PRN Healthcare’s clinician-first values and our belief that appreciation should be consistent, authentic, and action-driven. By investing time, resources, and presence throughout the entire summer, we demonstrated our ongoing commitment to supporting nurses and celebrating the vital role they play in healthcare.

I would like to nominate Rekindled Nurse for the category of Nurse Event. They are a nonprofit based out of Lancaster PA whose mission is to support and care for nurses and they do that through so many ways, one of them being events for nurses. These events are amazing. From huge conferences, to monthly peer groups and monthly workshops, I have attended as many as I could and it is always an uplifting time to feel community support, get connected with other nurses, learn and get CEs for my license. This is an incredible organization who deserves the recognition for all they do for their community. Oh, not to mention they rushed in when the UPMC Memorial shooting happened in my town.
