During San Antonio’s iconic Fiesta season (April 24-May 4, 2025), Baptist Health System’s NICU nurses transformed their unit into a vibrant celebration for the hospital’s smallest and most fragile patients. Nurses in the NEST Women’s Services Units went above and beyond, organizing a special Fiesta-themed photo shoot that brought smiles to both babies and their families.

A Memorable Celebration for Families

FOX San Antonio covered the colorful event, where the NICU was decked out with festive touches (colorful cascarones, Fiesta ribbons, and plenty of cheerful decorations), creating a joyful atmosphere for families facing the challenges of a NICU stay. Parents joined in the fun, capturing adorable memories of their little ones dressed up for the season, helping to strengthen the bond between families and their babies during a stressful time.

Nurses: The Heart of the Fiesta

Baptist Health’s NICU nurses are known for their clinical expertise and compassionate care, but events like the Fiesta photo shoot highlight their creativity and dedication to making the hospital experience brighter for families. By celebrating milestones and creating special moments, these nurses help parents see the brighter side of the NICU journey

¡Viva Fiesta, Viva NICU Babies!

Fiesta is a beloved San Antonio tradition, symbolizing community, resilience, and joy. By bringing the spirit of Fiesta into the NICU, Baptist Health nurses remind families that even in the hospital, there’s room for celebration and hope.

Thanks to the dedication of Baptist Health System’s NICU nurses, the tiniest patients got to be part of San Antonio’s biggest party-proving that every baby, no matter how small, deserves a fiesta of their own.

¡Viva los bebés de la NICU!
