Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology Nurse Educator

The Nautical Group, a retained executive search firm in Raleigh, is working with a major health system in the area to fill their Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology Nurse Educator position. This person is responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology program.

General Responsibilities:

• Provide education to pediatric patients and their families, and healthcare and school personnel, in inpatient and classroom settings
• Identify at-risk patient populations who require care management services
• Provide bio-psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs
• Anticipate, integrate and coordinate patient plans of care and maximize the ability to remain in a community setting
• Monitor the effectiveness of patient plans and their outcomes
• Understand the needs of the organization and support the mission, values and management of patient care services
• Support and incorporate the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act and organization nursing and patient care models
• Ability to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines
• Demonstrated clinical expertise, leadership skills and teaching ability
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Requirements:

• Previous experience in pediatrics required
• Associate’s degree or diploma required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current license as an RN in State of North Carolina required
• Certified Diabetes Educator required
• Endocrinology experience and phlebotomy skills preferred
