What to Expect in an RN to BSN Online Program
RN to BSN programs require an Associate Degree in Nursing or a nursing diploma. ADN and diploma-educated nurses already have a solid foundation of clinical knowledge and skills. So, the RN to BSN program typically provides nursing classes geared toward research, leadership, and nursing theory.
Most of the time, you should expect to already have RN licensure before becoming eligible for an RN to BSN program. Some programs allow you to enroll with pending licensure if you’ve passed the NCLEX. However, all students must earn their RN by a specific point in the program, no matter the admittance process.
Additionally, while there are a few RN to BSN programs without clinicals, most have one or two in-person rotations, including community health. Many universities allow students to complete their practicum experiences at their place of employment.
