VA Nurse wins $148,560 Lottery

Fawn Hughes, a Chesterfield, Virginia nurse won $148,560 from a Cash 5 with EZ Match played at a Food Lion. The ticket she purchased matched all five winning numbers for the January 15th drawing.
“I was in shock!” Hughes told Lottery officials. “I’d never won anything that big before!”
Fawn stopped at the Food Lion to pick up soup for her sister and decided on a whim to play a Virginia Lottery game that she had never played before. Fawn matched the following numbers: 9-11-15-26-35. Her sister, Karen Fulton, was there at the time she claimed the winning prize money.
According to the Virginia Department of Health Professions, Hughes has been a registered nurse in Virginia since June 2010.

Cash 5 with EZ Match is a rolling jackpot, starting at a minimum of $100,000, and continues to grow. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 749,398. The drawing takes place seven days a week and can be watched live online.
