Bradley Inniss, a 37-year-old psychiatric travel nurse from Barbados, was recently shot while at a friend’s apartment over a dispute regarding a parking spot. According to reports, Inniss and a few friends were watching the LA Lakers game and hanging out when a neighbor came to the apartment and accused someone of taking his parking space.

Inniss, an LSU grad and member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, was sitting on the couch and hit by a bullet in the abdomen fired by the assailant. Of note, the car parked in the parking space did not belong to anyone in the apartment. After firing several shots into the apartment, the man fled.

“From the time I heard ‘someone’s in my parking spot’ to shots fired, it was like 12 seconds,” said Louis Davis, who was in the apartment at the time. “I mean, you changed a man’s life over nothing.”

Ann Inniss, Bradley’s mother, and his brothers flew from Barbados to be with him during his numerous surgeries and as the recovery phase begins.

“He was actually willing to come from his last contract in Maryland all the way to Washington state. Because that’s what he does. That’s what he’s interested and willing to do. Wherever he’s needed he will go,” said Ann Inniss.

GoFundMe For Inniss

GoFundMe for the Inniss family has been created to help offset medical bills that have incurred as well as help his family from Barbados be with him.

Despite everything, Bradley remains optimistic about his future in nursing. While in the hospital, he spoke with KIRO 7 and said, “I’ve always enjoyed putting a smile on other people’s faces. I’ve always tried to give the best for the people that I serve. I want to thank the doctors and nurses. My mom. Louis.”

Bradley has undergone multiple surgeries to his abdomen and back area and the doctors foresee months of rehab before he will be able to get back to his patients. “My son will never be the same. Physically, emotionally, mentally. He will not be the same,” Ann Inniss said.

The man who shot Bradley has been arrested and is out on bail facing assault charges. His name has not been released at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation and Nurse.org will update this article as more information becomes available.
