If you experience a flat tire while driving, remain calm and follow these steps: 1. **Safety First:** Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface away from traffic and engage the parking brake. Turn on your hazard lights. 2. **Loosen Lugs:** Using the lug wrench, loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire by turning them counter-clockwise about one-half turn. *Do not remove them yet.* 3. **Lift Vehicle:** Place the jack under the vehicle's frame at the designated lift point. Raise the vehicle until the flat tire is about six inches off the ground. 4. **Swap Tires:** Remove the lug nuts completely and pull the flat tire off.
