Making A Worldwide Impact

Giving back is ingrained in everything they do at FIGS, and has been from the beginning.

When FIGS started, Threads for Threads was created as an initiative to donate scrubs to healthcare professionals who work in resource-poor countries and lack the proper uniforms to do their jobs safely. By providing clean scrubs to these individuals, FIGS aims to empower them and improve the quality of care they provide. FIGS also partners with amazing organizations and Awesome Humans who help them deliver the scrubs — as well as donate their time, expertise, and care.

As FIGS has continued to grow as a company, so has the breadth of their mission. In order to truly serve medical professionals on a global scale, they see a fundamental opportunity to do more. In addition to continuing to donate scrubs, they now make a bigger, longer-lasting impact for the community they serve around the world.

Q&A

Tell us about your nursing experience.

“I'm an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner practicing as a Hospitalist. I'm on my feet a majority of the day for sure! I've been an RN since 2011 and a practicing NP since 2013.”

What scrubs do you usually wear to work and why?

“I love to wear Figs when I can! They are amazingly comfortable, very versatile, never stain, and I generally get compliments when I'm wearing them ;-)”

How do you typically choose your scrubs?

“Size is important for me. I'm tall with long arms and muscular legs, so it's not always easy to find the right fit. But nearly all of the time Figs have the right fit and they are always so comfortable!”

How long are you usually at work during a typical shift?

“Varies, anywhere from 4 hours to 14 hours”

What do you like about FIGS scrubs?

“Colors, cut, and comfort!”

What do you dislike about FIGS scrubs?

“I wish the primary pants pockets were deeper, and I wish they all came with the chest pocket specific for a pen.”

Is there anything else you think nurses should know about FIGS scrubs?

“They are absolutely worth the extra cost. It's an investment in YOU and your comfort at work, where we spend so much time. Everything else going on in our environment is so taxing and difficult, your scrubs shouldn't be!”

Do you have any specific feedback you'd like to share with FIGS scrubs?

“Deeper pants pockets and more pen pockets across styles please! Also, really love your stuff, I'm available to discuss ambassadorships if you have any openings!

Would you recommend them to a coworker?

“100%”

Q&A

Tell us about your nursing experience.

“I am currently an outpatient RN at an anesthesiology pain clinic. Before my current position, I was an inpatient RN at a telemetry PCU. I have almost 2 years of experience as a nurse. I work five 8-hour days, and according to my Apple Watch, I walk about 5,000-6,000 steps per day!”

What scrubs do you usually wear to work and why?

“I usually wear Figs scrubs everyday and occasionally Jaanuu scrubs. Figs is most definitely my favorite scrubs brand. They have the best fit, style, and colors. I have tried numerous scrubs brands throughout the years, and I always end up circling back to Figs!

How do you typically choose your scrubs?

“"Comfort, fit, and style are the most important factors when I choose my scrubs. I need to make sure the scrubs are breathable and comfortable enough to wear during work as I move around quite often. Making sure the scrubs fit correctly is another factor I consider. It shouldn't be tight but also not too baggy. Lastly, style is important as it boosts my confidence and allows me to express myself even in uniform!"

How long are you usually at work during a typical shift?

“I work a typical Monday through Friday 8:30AM-5PM schedule, so about 8-9 hours per day.”

What do you like about FIGS scrubs?

“I wear Figs scrubs practically five days week for as long as I can remember! What attracted me about Figs is how they are seamlessly able to combine comfort and style into each of their scrub designs. Most of the other scrub brands I have tried can only provide one or the other.”

What do you dislike about FIGS scrubs?

“The price is something to consider when purchasing Figs. These aren't the type of scrubs you can purchase whenever you want, but it is definitely a worthwhile investment!”

Is there anything else you think nurses should know about FIGS scrubs?

“Definitely the brand I recommend for everyday work scrubs!”

Do you have any specific feedback you'd like to share with FIGS scrubs?

“Thank you to both Nurse.org and Figs for this amazing opportunity! I hope to work with you all in the future. I had so much fun doing this project :-)

Would you recommend them to a coworker?

“100%! My co-workers always joke around that I am a Figs ambassador because I am usually head-to-toe in Figs.”
