PROS:

Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na The hospital is a great place to work

CONS:

Telemetry

Great hospital and organization to work for. Excellent nurse driven protocols.

5
PROS:

Great coworkers, facility. Patient ratio is also reasonable. Expansion in progress, beautiful campus, teaching hospital gives you opportunity to learn from residents who are willing to teach and share their knowledge.

CONS:

Not too sure about the pay, Major parking issues, huge campus that sometimes requires shuttle to navigate.

Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Great hospital!

5
PROS:

Coworkers are some of the best I've ever worked with. Everyone makes you feel like you have the resources and help you need

CONS:

None so far

Progressive Care

Float Pool

5
PROS:

I've worked all over this hospital as a float pool RN, the scheduling is flexible, the RN to patient ratio is great (3-4:1) and I would recommend anyone work here.

CONS:

None

Interventional Radiology (IR)

Registered Nurse

5
PROS:

Great hours with self scheduling. Wonderful doctors. Great teamwork! Hands on management

CONS:

Lower than average pay, extremely large facility than can be confusing and take a lot of time to learn where everything is. Urgency for numbers maybe more so than patient safety at times.

Ambulatory Care

CN1-CN3, Unit Coordinator

5
PROS:

great nursing support and autonomy, flexible work/life balance, plenty of opportunities for continued education, good pay, nurse to patient ratio is fair

CONS:

no cons

Progressive Care

great team work; excellect patient care

5
PROS:

nurses, staff, documentation were great. I loved layout of the hospital and how accessible things are. The hospital is very clean and people and patients are all very friendly.

CONS:

parking was an issue since the entire hospital is under construction and constantly growing. I also found that since it is a teaching hospital - patient stays are longer and it can be difficult to find out discharge info since you will be speaking with students, new residents, old residents, and sometimes attendings.

Dialysis (Nephrology)

Very educational!

5
PROS:

Facility, experience, ratio, benefits, doctors take time to actually explain their process and teach you what you don't know or need help with

CONS:

None

Step-down

Great environment to learn new skills and be exposed to different things.

5
PROS:

Up-to-date facility, O2 medical system, self-scheduling- possible to get moved to another shift when balancing schedule. Typically 3:1 day RN ratio or 4:1 nights.

CONS:

There have been times where we are short staffed and a few RNs have to take a 5th pt.

Orthopedics

RN

5
PROS:

Great co-workers, teaching hospitals so you always have a doctor in house if you need anything. It's a learning environment and they have a culture of learning and collaborating among all healthcare providers.

CONS:

Being understaffed at times were challenging as with any facilty or organization.
