Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Not a good place to work
Gossip all over hospital, and inappropriate relationships, seen many violations on hipaa, pay scale is low. It’s truly like a adult high school with the popular group (managers and administrative department) gossiping about staff and patients. Would also never recommend someone to join EVS unless you want no career growth in the hospital because seen many try to grow and apply for jobs in other departments with no success.
Very Friendly facility, makes travelers feel welcome, great facility morale boosters like bbq, free box lunches, etc, surgical unit is new construction, Manager is very approachable
The surgical unit is challenging, not very welcoming, travelers frustrate them, understaffed at times, prone to gossip about everyone, very cliquish with home town staff, prefers travelers to handle answering phones, cleaning beds, running infusion even if job title and years of experience is OR RN or PACU RN
Surgical department in transition, great manager, very small department which is great if everyone gets along, very tense and hostile if not, surgeons wonderful to work with and lots of home baked goods from MDs wives and patients. Facility is very welcoming, made lots of friends here but lots of unit drama, like an episode of Mean Girls. Worked preop/pacu and learned endo which was great. Gossip is toxic and freely indulged in by staff. Males are probably best bet in this department. Locum CRNAs cover surgery cases, no Anesthesiologist on site.
