Cath Lab (Cardiac Catheterization)

RN Cath Lab

PROS:

Busy, up and coming, fun people. Team players. RN's help each other out with call and shift changes.

CONS:

Recently hired a Periph Vascular surgeon (Not my favorite). More call, longer hours. Not a lot of staff input into this decision

CONS:

Management, insurance long hours, patient work load, overworked I want to try traveling through the rest of Minnesota, northern Wisconsin too

Oncology

Float Nurse

PROS:

Both, co-workers and the pay are awesome! The nurses and the aids were very helpful. Everyone worked as a team, as a unit.

CONS:

The manager is not approachable, or helpful.

Labor & Delivery (L&D)

This is the hospital I worked for 15 years

PROS:

The fact that they have a union that prevents buses being fired for no good reaso. Strong well trained nurses and the nurse to pray. Ratio is excellent!

Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Strike RN

PROS:

Coworkers, very nice facility, pay, hours, meals, teamwork, management, around the clock leadership available, floating and very nice and helpful physicians with a lot of knowledge

CONS:

None

Intensive Care (Critical Care, CCU, ICU)

Awful.

PROS:

The twin cities is a nice area. Great shopping, dining, culture & nightlife. Lots to do in the area. Many other hospitals to seek employment at.

CONS:

Floated 4 hours at a time off my contracted units. DON was unprofessional. Staff nurses unhelpful. I ended my contract several weeks early.

Progressive Care

Three Stars

PROS:

Fun place Ok place to work

CONS:

None

Telemetry

Two Stars

PROS:

None

CONS:

It used to be a well oiled machine! Until the hospital wanted to overthrow the union. The cohesive coworkers are great! The orients are good too. We work short staffed and sometimes you get bullied to take patients. The amazing culture that once was there is gone and the employees are divided. Allina pitted the employees against each other during the strike and now they say "no cold shoulder or you can be disciplined". What once was amazing is no longer.
