6/14/2018Emergency Room (ER)
Friendly people, nice area near the beach, warm weather year round. decent cafeteria. small hospital.
Not a lot of team work, new employees with little motivation or experience, clicky. constant changes of processes with no clear direction or improvements seen. long wait times for MD decisions to admit or discharge.
2 travel assignments float
Frienndly, helpful staff, able to self schedule, supervisors always friendly, would love to go back, i loved the emergency room when i floated,
Ratio high on ortho floor
8/3/2017Case Management (CM)
good, but I had to move after the 2 hurricanes in 2004
Very nice facility, clean and well organized at the time I worked there, 1999-2004. Union presence. I am not aware of the changes, except is now a teaching facility.
Experienced the usual up and downs. Hospital was busy. As a case manager, I was very busy with utilization management and discharge planning. Also member of a couple committees, always working on quality and improvements
6/12/2017Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Three Year full time
Diversified staffing, pay was within range of other area hospitals, scheduling was fair and out for review in a timely manner, ratio was maxed during winter season.
Not always helpful to travel nurses, mandatory overtime and call schedule.
6/3/2017Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)
Nurses are assigned too many patients for the acuity.
No pros. The culture of the hospital is corrupt from the CEO down.
The CEO, Jeff Susi, is leaving so maybe the culture will improve. But as it stands now, the management manages with intimidation and favoritism. A nurse manager, Karen Marple, was a cake decorator before she got her RN. She was only on the floor as a staff nurse for about six weeks before she moved over to the case management department. She is over several floors at the hospital and walks the halls trying to intimidate everyone but it is evident when she has to deal with patient care that she actually has no knowledge of nursing or the nurse experience and expects inhumanly possible work performance out of the staff nurses.
12/26/2016Emergency Room (ER)
The parking is good and the facility is clean.
The staff is very uninterested in there jobs. I had two nurses compare breast size and tenderness in front of me while discussing Thierry breast augmentation surgeries!
11/20/2016Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)
It's been welcoming and overall pretty great
My coworkers are amazing I couldn't ask for a better group of people.
Scheduling is tough sometimes but granted I know my nurse manager has a tough job. They do what they can to help
11/11/2016Operating Room (OR)
Coworkers are very nice to work with and are very team oriented. Ancillary staff. Most of the physicians, Area hospital is located.
Management style is very unprofessional, the salary does not even compare to the surrounding hospitals. There is a high turnover rate.
10/21/2016Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
Good nurse patient ratio
9/7/2016Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)
How difficult and slow the computer system would be.
