Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)

2N Cardia/Med/surg

PROS:

Coworkers, the reason i gave it a two star, not a one star review.

CONS:

Last two years in a row for the "2N RN of the Year" left NFRMC. That in itself, says volumes. Can't keep staff bc of high pt ratios. Overworked, unequal pay (new RN's often start at higher pay than yourself who's been there a few years), If you are a grad RN, really think about that STARn program that locks you in there for two years contract... Shands at UF has much better orientation, staffing, and pay increases when it comes to med surg nursing.

Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Rn

PROS:

Love the coworkers I work with. The level of teamwork is outstanding and the population of patients and doctors are great.

CONS:

Things that could be better are the pay and staffing ratio.

Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)

Friendly environment, good benifits, free parking for employees

PROS:

Facility not so big so everybody knows its other ,very friendly environment been there for 6 + years now , good benifits, its a 1:6 somethimes 1:7 ratio but when you have good team work with friendly environment everything will be alright.

CONS:

None

Ambulatory Care

ER Observation

PROS:

Co workers, hours and flexibility, along with the ability to schedule our own hours. They also allow me to float to other floors for experience

CONS:

Management

Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)

Orthopedics

Neuro- Ortho Floor RN

PROS:

Friendly staff, willing managers, plenty of stock, ancillary staff very helpful, and education availability was top notch. Educational dept was always willing to help

CONS:

Physician interaction and availability

Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Team players

PROS:

Management is great so the facility ran well. Nurses/doctors had great compassion for their patients and my coworkers were eager to help out. Pay is average and they seem to really appreciate their travelers.

CONS:

Scheduling wasn't optimal. Seems the full time employees got their first pick of the assignments and travelers got what was left over. They were ok with changing to accommodate certain days off but the traveler was responsible for finding someone to switch and that is difficult when you don't know anyone in the beginning. I suggest locking in the amt of wknds that you are willing to work in your contract unless you want to work every weekend.

Neuroscience (Neurological, Neurology)

RN/Charge RN

PROS:

Co-workers are helpful and really do believe in helping fellow nurses. Schedules are flexible. Benefits are reasonable. Management tries to get information from the staff that would help the hospital run more efficient.

CONS:

Ratio is RN to 6 Patients with a quick turnover of patients, as well as nursing staff. Very Stressful.

Labor & Delivery (L&D)

RN

PROS:

Coworkers, facility, scheduling, and overall good experience. Nice facility. Good location. Valuable experience. Good leadership. Sweet patients. Proximity to housing

CONS:

Pay, ratio
