43 years nicu, home care, hospice, acute geriatrics, oncology

Good staff, close to D.C. free parking.hi-tech. Nice location

CONS:

Ratio. It is Not a teaching hospital. Has only Hospitalists.frequently short on beds, overcrowded emergency dept, long wait for inpatient beds.

RNs not treated as professionals. Verbal and physical abuse of RNs is common;Inexperienced supervisors without adequate training; low salaries; high co-pays for treatment from health insurance providers in the hospital network

Neonatal ICU (NICU)

Small unit with reat patients

Nice hospital and area surrounding, good clientele accepting to travelers smaller unit with low acuity twenty four neonatologist coverage with excellent NNP

I have been canceled due to low census-not a PRO!!

The nurse to patient ratio undesirable due to severeness of patients conditions. Limitations to time allotted really critical patients. When leaving at shift change, you have a true feeling of having made a difference.

This is a overall a very good place to work. There is up to date equipment, and training is extensive and ongoing. The organization is fair and supportive. The only negative is the lower than average pay for RNs in a high cost of living area, and this has been improving.
