Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) Full-Time/Non-Permanent Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC) Aberdeen, WA

The Department of Corrections is immediately seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Registered Nurse (RN2) - Full time/non-permenant nurses for the Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC) is a 1,936-bed multi-custody facility located five miles west of Aberdeen, on the southern Washington Coast. There are seven living units for medium and minimum long-term custody offenders and an intensive management unit for maximum-custody offenders. SCCC was Washington State's first tobacco-free facility for both staff and offenders.


Duties:

The registered nurse delivers services which promote health, foster healing, support coping and adjustment to various health conditions. Nursing services are provided to individual patients, their families, groups of patients, the staff employed at a correctional facility and to the public at large. The Registered Nurse 2 serves as a lead worker and supports the agency mission and vision by: -Screening, assessing, and evaluating offenders and the conditions where they live and work to ensure that they are well, safe and their health care continuous. -Responding to all other requests for health care attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate and therapeutic manner. -Delegating and supervising work, monitoring, managing, coordinating, and delivering health care. -Planning transition, making referrals and arranging follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community. -Assisting patients to improve their skill and ability to provide care for themselves and their family. -Counseling, consulting, teaching, advising, and providing health information that improves quality of health services and/or enhances safety and security.


The On-Call staff provides coverage in cases of extended vacation, illness, training, and other leaves of absence. On-call/intermittent staff is expected to: -Be available to work all shifts (day, swing and graveyard) including weekends and holidays as requested. -Be willing to work a minimum of 12 shifts a month. -Provide written availability by the 20th of each month for the following month's coverage. -Be willing to complete a paid six-week correctional worker CORE training.

Qualifications:

The ability to obtain a valid Washington State license to practice as a Registered Nurse prior to employment;


Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing;


AND

One year experience working as a Registered Nurse.


** Note: Must have initial and continuous unblemished/unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse.
