PROS:

Brackenridge was the hospital where I worked for 3 years, ending in the summer of 2015. The unit had beautiful nurses with good hearts. The nurses were supportive when we were not short staffed. The culture was in transition because of a change in leadership. This change was stressful throughout the hospital. What I liked is that Evidenced based care was implemented. Also the population of patients included uninsured and indigent. I recommend this hospital if your personal mission is to serve the poor and vulnerable.

PROS:

I work on a trauma/ortho floor at a level I trauma hospital. It is a charity hospital and does not have as many resources as I had hoped. The patient population is very challenging and it is a difficult floor. However, I have learned to be resourceful, great time management, and how to work well under pressure, and roll with the punches. It is a great training ground and I believe if you can work there, you can work anywhere.
