Intensive Care (Critical Care, CCU, ICU)

ICU experience

PROS:

Coworkers, pay, scheduling, ratios, excellent team work. There's a college of nursing attached and the graduate programs offer discounts for being an employee in the hospital system

CONS:

Facility location and neighborhood, some older equipment, cafeteria poor quality

Ambulatory Care

They values their employees, and management is wonderful.

PROS:

They value their employees. Awesome management. They are big on education, and truly care about their patients. I have loved being employed there!!!

CONS:

Older hospital.

Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)

RN

PROS:

The pay was great for a staff RN and the staff was phenomenal. Worked very well as a team to take good care of the patients.

CONS:

The patient to nurse ratios were terrible. 6:1 and usually primary care. It caused an increased stress level that could have been avoided.

Medical-Surgical (MS, Med-Surg)

Rn

PROS:

Coworkers have been great, pretty much the only reason I've stayed, maybe I should talked more? Uh no. This neighborhood is dangerous..

CONS:

Environment

Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Experience at OSU

PROS:

They offer great pay and I worked with some great coworkers. Everyone worked together as a team, and helped out even if it wasn't their patient. They also had low ratios.

CONS:

None

Orthopedics

great team work, current technology used

PROS:

Co-workers are team players, pay & benefits are good, clean and well-run facility, patients are well taken care of. Technology is most current.

CONS:

Sometimes scheduling. Otherwise do not know of any cons. Its a great hospital.

The best part of this place is the coworkers. I've found mostly all of them to be helpful. The night attending physicians are superb and very helpful.
