You will have opportunities to learn from some of the best in many specialties, and you will get to care for patients few other facilities would ever see

PROS:

Coworkers, educational opportunities, pay, scheduling, #2 hospital in the U.S.

CONS:

Med-surg as a whole has a shortage of nurses causing nurse to latient ratios to increase at times, increasing stress levels

Excellent new grad program; starting pay for a new grad is good; various types of departments to get various experience in nursing.

CONS:

Very overwhelming due to the size of the campus; rotating shifts every 3-6 weeks.

Happy in the OR

PROS:

Love my coworkers & opportunity to learn here. Working along world class surgeons is an inspiring experience. ORs all contain the best technology and equipment.

Due to staffing, inability to switch shifts is often an issue
