Postpartum (Perinatal)

Maternal Newborn and Newborn nursery

PROS:

You get great experience at Shands because they deal with high risk patients. They allow self scheduling and the pay rate is very cmpetitive.

CONS:

The nurse patient ratios can leave something to be desired. It is not unheard of for a nurse to have 9 couplets as an assignment. There is also a lack of available resources. When requests are made for additional resources or equipment, it is normally denied.

Co workers can be very helpful in assisting to facilitate your needs to know information. The building is also very nice and newly

CONS:

Co worker can be not helpful at times and it makes it difficult when trying to learn facility.

Be prepared to be flexible. We are a teaching hospital. Use your time to become a great student and a great teacher. Grow every day.
