Emergency Room (ER)

ER nurse

PROS:

My Coworkers were great, teamwork is amazing in this ER. There are A lot of experienced nurses in the ER.

CONS:

Poor staff support including nurses and management

PROS:

Close to home, learn different units, explore different hospital

CONS:

Poor attitudes of the coworkers toward agency, no CNA's no secretaries, no transport, attitude when asked to help me with a turn or a boost etc

Cath Lab (Cardiac Catheterization)

Wonderful co-workers and environment

PROS:

Great pay, benefits, great cafeteria, good parking, in center city, close to everything, plenty of nightlife! Physicians value the nursing staff and treat them as colleagues!! Good ratios on the floor!

CONS:

Busy center city area, heavy traffic on day shift! Trauma center, so very busy!!

Progressive Care

YOU LEARN ALOT BUT NO SUPPORT STAFF

PROS:

The knowledge that I have gained in such a short period of time is priceless. The team I work with is very supportive

No support staff

Intensive Care (Critical Care, CCU, ICU)

Great learning experience

PROS:

Good training, great experience, they hire new grads

CONS:

Pay is below average for being an urban hospital. Sometimes staffing is inadequate. Patient acuity isn't counted when staffing. There is not organization on the floors. Outdated
