Endoscopy (GI, Gastroenterology)
Staff is fantastic. Doctors are the best. Fast paced unit with lots of opportunity to make extra money by taking call. Work environment is very enjoyable.
This unit does not participate in shared governance, very little opportunity for career advancement in this particular unit.
Intensive Care (Critical Care, CCU, ICU)
comfortabke, clean, courtesy, professional, good pay, up to date technically, safe, Nursing staff helpful, educational, scheduling comupterized, Dr courtesy, holistic medication approach all in one services
meal planning for patients
Emergency Room (ER)
Awful management, disorganized HR, poor communication re: policies with staff
Pay, coworkers, facility, hours, benefits ok, nice hospital itself, nice patients, competitive pay
Management, HR, policies, communication, lots of very inexperienced staff nurses, outdated equipment, paramedics there don't work to help nurses, not enough techs, favoritism with management towards staff
PMC is a wonderful place to work. My coworkers have been nothing but helpful ever since I started. I feel like I am truly cared about at this place.
Psychiatric (Mental Health)
When I worked there I was respected, our unit worked well as a team
Coworkers, environment, flexibility, worked well as a team, offered frequent continued educational opportunities. Nice, clean pleasant hospital to work in.
Many days worked overtime, good at times tiring at other times but this is true for most hospitals
35 yrs working there in ER, Endoscopy, HBO, Pain Management, Supervisory roles
Coworkers are great to work with. Msny departments to choose from. Some shifts are 8,10 or 12 depending on the department
Operating Room (OR)
No chance for advancement. No management support. Very short staff w/ no end in sight. Forced overtime most days.
This is wonderful community of staff!! From the moment I stepped in the door, I knew it would be a great fit!
